At an impressive service here on Sunday morning, the Reverend L. I. Stell was ordained a minister of the gospel, and installed as pastor of the Whiteville Presbyterian church. The ordination service was in charge of the Reverend J. M. Klontz, of Wilmington, and the sermon was preached by the Reverend Paul Liston of Richmond, Va.

The Reverend Arthur Vann Gibson, pastor of the Westminster Presbyterian church here, delivered the charge to the minister, and J. H. Clark, on of the leading laymen of Elizabethtown Presbyterian church was heard in a few words to the congregation.

The Reverend Mr. Stell arrived from Richmond to take up his ministry in Whiteville the latter part of the week, having recently completed his studies in a Richmond Seminary. He is a native of Dallas, Texas, and his mother, of that city, was present for the ordination service.

Mr. Stell will have charge of the Whiteville and Chadbourn Presbyterian churches. He will preach here next Sunday morning at eleven o’clock and in Chadbourn in the evening.
